part of the FIA Law & Compliance Division webinar series

At the end of 2018, a federal district court in New York handed down a long-awaited decision in CFTC v. DRW.  That decision delivered a setback to the CFTC.  DRW, together with other recent federal district court decisions, are shedding light on the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) provisions prohibiting manipulation and fraudulent practices. These decisions may impact how the CFTC will frame and try to prove future market conduct cases. This Law & Compliance Division webinar explored the current landscape of manipulation law under the CEA, and what these recent decisions mean both for the CFTC's enforcement program and private litigants.
