On July 27, the International Organization of Securities Commissions published a “thematic review” of the progress being made in various countries in the adoption of IOSCO’s principles for the protection of client assets. Out of the 38 regulatory agencies covered in the review, the majority has adopted one or more of the client protections recommended by IOSCO, the review said. The review included a detailed discussion of implementation on a principle-by-principle basis and set out overarching themes and differences in approaches and adoption measures taken by participating jurisdictions.
