Taifex wins permission to offer options to U.S. customers

Taiwan Futures Exchange announced on March 16 that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has issued relief allowing the exchange’s index options, equity options and exchange-traded-fund options to be offered to eligible U.S. broker-dealers and institutions. Taifex said the SEC relief will help increase foreign participation and allow the exchange to further internationalize and keep pace with global standards. In particular, the exchange said it hopes to use the SEC relief to further expand its business in the U.S. market.
