Marketing Specialist

Position Summary

FIA’s marketing and communications team seeks a marketing specialist. This newly created, early career position needs an organized, creative and detail-oriented individual eager to develop a broad set of marketing skills.

Working closely with the marketing and communications team members across the Washington and London offices, the marketing specialist helps execute campaigns that promote the organization's programs, events, publications and member services while ensuring brand consistency.

FIA operates on a hybrid schedule, working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the office. This marketing specialist will work out of our Washington, DC office. 

Key Responsibilities


Digital Marketing

  • Assist with the creation and scheduling of email marketing campaigns. 
  • Update website content using the organization's content management systems.
  • Support search engine optimization and digital marketing initiatives. 
  • Track and report on marketing campaign performance using analytics tools.

Content Creation

  • Draft marketing copy for emails, newsletters, webpages and promotional materials. 
  • Coordinate production of marketing materials and collateral. 
  • Help maintain editorial and marketing calendars.

Events Marketing

  • Support marketing campaigns for conferences, webinars and member events. 
  • Create promotional emails and attendee communications. 
  • Coordinate marketing materials before and during events.
  • Help create events in the mobile app for optimum attendee experience.

Marketing Operations

  • Coordinate with outside vendors and designers. 
  • Ensure marketing materials comply with brand standards. 
  • Assist with administrative projects and other marketing initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • 0–2 years of marketing or communications experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., iMIS EMS, Informz, HubSpot, Constant Contact, etc.). 
  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Basic knowledge of marketing analytics tools. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Asana. 
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, RiSE or Drupal.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills. 
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications. 
  • Creative problem-solving and attention to detail. 
  • Comfort learning new technology platforms. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
  • Strong customer service orientation.

The salary range is $60,000 - $70,000k.
