The FIA Operations Americas Division is pleased to announce that the 2015-2016 Scholarship Application is now available. We are proud to confirm that the newly merged division will be awarding ten scholarships with each valued at $2,500.
Since the inception of the scholarship program, scholarships have been awarded to 107 academic scholars totaling $233,500. The number of applicants has increased each year since inception. We endeavor to support our members in educating their children and preparing them for the future world economy. We are proud of this program and encourage your children to participate. All qualified persons should apply!
The scholarship applicants must be children of individuals with a minimum of one year’s membership in either the FIA Chicago Division or the Futures Services Division of the FIA as of the end of the fiscal year (December 2014) preceding the award year and continuing in good standing as a member of the FIA Operations Americas Division at the eligibility verification date.
This year as in the past, Scholarship Management Services will determine the recipients of the awards. The program utilized in the selection by Scholarship Management Services is described in the attachment found below, along with the application. In no instance does any officer or member of the FIA Operations Americas Division play a part in the selection process. This year, we have determined that the deadline for submission will be May 15, 2015. This will give our children sufficient time to gather the required information. The recipients selected will be notified by Scholarship Management Services by mid-July.
The scholarship program is just one of the benefits of division membership and is funded through your attendance at numerous events throughout the year. We encourage everyone who hasn’t renewed their membership to do so. If you have not renewed your membership, you can renew here: https://operations-americas.fia.org/. If you have questions about renewing your membership, please contact Mary Freeman, FIA Washington at mfreeman@fia.org or 202-772-3033.
If you have questions regarding the scholarship application please contact Scholarship Management Services at the number listed on the application, Al Scrivanich at 201-761-4556 or Maria Mancusi at 312-604-8622.
