FIA has filed comments with the US Federal Trade Commission raising concerns with its proposal to enact a near-categorical ban on non-compete provisions in U.S employment agreements.
FIA believes the proposal will hurt competition, undermine business’s ability to safeguard critical intellectual property and proprietary information and reduce opportunities for employees. In addition to co-signing a letter filed on behalf of hundreds of other associations representing virtually every sector of the U.S. economy opposing the proposed rule, FIA urged the FTC to consider the comments of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association on behalf of the financial services industry.
