Victor Liew currently serves as Chairman of the Fullerton Fund Management Co. and CapitaRetail China Trust Management. Armed with 30 years of experience in the financial sector, Mr. Liew began his career as a banking officer in an American bank in 1973 and eventually retired as Head of Global Markets and a member of the management committee of Overseas Union Bank. As a major counterparty in markets, he has played an active role in the leadership of the committee representing treasury markets. He served as a member of the Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee from its inception in 1987 and was its Chairman from 1996 to 2001. He also played an active role in the development of the Singapore International Monetary Exchange from its inception in 1984 and was its director from 1991 and its Chairman from 1996 to 1999. When the Stock Exchange of Singapore and SIMEX demutualized and merged in 1999, he was on the pro-tem committee and was subsequently appointed a board member of the merged organization, Singapore Exchange, until his retirement from the board in September 2004. He was also the Chairman of the Singapore Commodity Exchange from 1998 to 2003. In 2000, he was awarded the Bintang Bakti-Masyarakat public service star for his contributions to the financial services sector.
