Join FIA, CFTC Commissioner Dan Berkovitz and 30+ CFTC and FERC experts from government, commercials, exchanges and law firms for FIA's inaugural commodities symposium in Houston, Texas, June 10-11. Commissioner Berkovitz, sponsor of the CFTC’s Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee, will address the CFTC’s regulatory initiatives and priorities for commodities markets, and participants will explore regulatory, enforcement, documentation, and technology issues that impact spot and derivatives markets in energy and agriculture. Panel sessions will offer practical guidance on how firms can design and implement policies and compliance programs that help to minimize the risk of CFTC, FERC and exchange investigations and penalties.

Sessions will cover:

  • Latest developments in CFTC and FERC enforcement;
  • Best practices for CFTC and FERC compliance programs;
  • Legal, regulatory and operational issues for commercial hedgers and end users;
  • Rule changes, regulatory developments and insights from key U.S. commodities exchanges;
  • Blockchain’s impact on legal documentation and supply chain management.

The program is designed for legal, compliance and operations professionals of all seniority levels. CLE application is pending.

All materials, access to conference sessions, and meal functions listed on the program (unless otherwise noted). Promotional gifts are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that the keynote luncheon has limited seating. Once capacity has been reached, interested attendees will be directed to a nearby overflow room to watch the speech on a large monitor.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy:
