David Martin appointed chair of FIA Asia Regional Advisory Board

2 June 2016

FIA announced that David Martin of J.P. Morgan has been appointed chairman of the Asia Regional Advisory Board for a two year term. He replaced Paul Davies, who stepped down after retiring from Goldman Sachs.

"I am very pleased to have David come on board," said Bill Herder, Head of Asia for FIA. "His knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our mission in the Asia-Pacific region. I also want to thank Paul for all the advice, support and commitment he gave to FIA throughout his tenure as chairman."

David Martin joined J.P. Morgan in 1997 and held a succession of increasingly senior positions in the bank's European futures and options business. He relocated to Singapore in 2014 when he assumed responsibility for the bank's derivatives clearing business in the region. Before being appointed chairman of the FIA Asia Regional Advisory Board, he served on its executive committee.

FIA’s Regional Advisory Boards are comprised of business leaders representing a cross-section of the association's membership.  Along with the  Americas Advisory Board and the  Europe Advisory Board, the members of the  Asia Advisory Board advise the  FIA Board which governs the global association. Regional Advisory Boards provide input on topics of regional importance to the industry including on legislative, regulatory, commercial and advocacy issues.
